Grandmother Ateyo
From the Early Pandora Wiki Na'vi legend Wiki lore
Grandmother Ateyo is the elder who tells The Duck-Suckers of Pandora in its best-known version. She has a wrinkled face, glowing dots on her cheeks and yellow eyes that sparkle when she reaches the exciting parts. Na'vi legend
Storytelling
Ateyo saves the duck-sucker story "for special nights." She acts it out: tapping her fingers to make the tak-tak call, puffing her cheeks for the plant's bloop, and holding her two hands level like a scale to show balance. Na'vi legend
Wiki lore says Ateyo learned the story from her own grandmother, and that every teller adds one small detail of their own. Ateyo's addition is the hunter's sandal. Wiki lore
